Member/Sponsorship Drive

Dear Freethinker,

With the First Annual International Freethought Film Festival targeted for November in Tampa, Florida, we are excited about the journey we have ahead of us this year in the execution of this event. Last year, beginning in August, we launched our efforts to make this film festival a reality. 2009 proved to be a great beginning! Here is a list of some of our accomplishments.

-Our non-profit incorporation was established.
-We filed for 501(c)3 non-profit exemption to make donations tax deductible. (Pending approval)
-Our Facebook Page went up, and the number of Fans grew steadily.
-Our Website was built.
-We welcomed the American Humanist Association and Center for Inquiry-Tampa Bay as our first committed film sponsors.
-Enthusiastic endorsements confirmed the support of other freethinking organizations/groups/Websites.
-We opened up our Call for Submissions in October.
-We shared our mission at the Atheist Alliance International Convention in Los Angeles.
-Secular Nation Magazine graciously gave us a half page ad in the fall issue
-We set up a partnership with Withoutabox for film submissions.
-We became participating partners in the Tampa Bay Coalition of Reason.
-We had a great turnout of film submissions for those who took advantage of our Early Bird Deadline. (Late deadline is September)

Our work continues…

The Freethought Film Festival Foundation is a non-profit organization. 100% of the direction of the First Annual International Freethought Film Festival is voluntary. As the founder/director of FFFF (and a veteran freethought activist) I am passionate about our mission to promote reason, critical thinking and freedom of inquiry through the medium of film.

We have kicked off our member and sponsorship drive. November is less than a year away! Financial goals must be met to secure the event venue early. Detailed planning cannot ensue until a venue contract is signed.

Our first financial goal this year is to raise the funds needed for the required deposit on the venue. The amount needed for this is $8,000. As soon as this goal is met, an exact date and location for the First Annual International Freethought Film Festival will be set. This means that you will be able to start planning for your film festival weekend in Tampa, Florida.

A goal has been set of raising $8,000 before the end of February.

If you are excited about this event, sign up as a member of our “Behind the Scenes” Circle, make a donation or become an event sponsor. Don’t forget to share with others your enthusiasm for the upcoming International Freethought Film Festival.

You may already know in advance that a pilgrimage to the film festival is not in the stars for you. The member benefits of the "Behind the Scenes" Circle, such as discounted tickets and event passes may not be of use to you. Your presence will be missed, but if you strongly desire to see a growth in reason, by encouraging a freethought niche in film, this is a project worth your contribution. A donation of any amount will help. ($5, $10, $20 donations add up)
